​Join our dynamic team in MindWave Belgium as BI Developer and work for a large client of ours in Bruges! The job is hybrid and the attendance in the client’s office is 2 days per week.

As BI developer you will be part of the core BI team. The ambition of this agile team is to develop solutions (analysis, development, testing) that meet the client’s data and reporting needs. 
 

Key Responsibilities 

• You will be responsible for the design of the data warehouse through the different architectural layers and take care of the data modeling;
• You will build BI solutions (Datawarehouse in Azure Lakehouse) that bring together all kinds of source systems, maintain and optimize the ETL processes in Azure Data Factory and Databricks;
• You will develop PowerBI reports and dashboards that focus on customer/end user value. You will handle complex measures and visuals well. From your strong analytical insight and empathy, you shall work towards the best technical solution;
• You will continuously look for improvements, both functional and for example in performance, security, etc.;
• You will perform the necessary tests yourself so that quality is guaranteed, the business logic is properly applied and the reports are worked out correctly;
• You will take care of the technical documentation according to the internal standards;
• You will take the necessary initiatives to share the knowledge from the BI team with your colleagues in IT.
   

Qualifications​

• University degree, Bachelor or Master, in ICT and/or you have experience as BI developer;
• Excellent knowledge of BI and ETL in order to be able to guarantee the delivery of qualitative data;
• 5+ years of industry experience and 3+ years of relevant big data experience;
• Familiar with the Microsoft BI Stack;
• Strong expertise in SQL and deep understanding of data warehouse principles;
• Solid knowledge of Databricks (or notebooks);
• Basic initial experience in modeling, such as star diagrams using Kimball methodology;
• Knowledge of Python is a plus;
• Hands-on attitude and excel in terms of proactivity, organization and follow-up;
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills;
• Experience in Agile Scrum or Kanban is an asset;
• It is important to closely follow technological developments in your field and specifically Microsoft BI.
